Mrs. Theodora Adomako-Adjei is a Development and Management Expert with specialization in water and sanitation, 30 years general working experience with 27 years in the water and sanitation sector. She is a member of Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals.

She holds a Masters in Development Management (Rural Development) Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration; Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Sociology and Economics, Diploma in Education. (University of Cape Coast. Ghana); Advanced Certificate in Implementation Management of Projects (International Studies and Programs, Management Development International, Illinois State University, USA); Certificate in Training Management (Aarhus Technical College. Denmark); Certificate in Environmental and Social Frameworks and Safeguards Training (Africa Safeguards Group of the World Bank, Accra, Ghana; Certificate in Planning for Change and Implementing Sustainable Change (Royal Institute of Public Administration. London, United Kingdom); Certificate in Project and Programme Management (Royal Institute of Public Administration. Her experience has been focused on project identification, preparation and appraisal, project management, customer services, socio-economic studies, community mobilization and engagement, capacity building, gender advocacy and assessment, development of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, social behaviour change campaign, Knowledge management, institutional capacity development, water safety planning, environmental and social safeguards for delivery of water, sanitation and hygiene services in the rural and peri-urban areas.

She is well informed on water and sanitation sector policy issues and is regarded as a leading technical expert in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector. She has also been involved in several initiatives relating to emerging concepts and models and contributed immensely to the strategic discourse in the sector. These include change management, water safety planning, Household Water Treatment and Storage, WASH in emergencies, environmental and social safeguards, Community Led Total Sanitation, Menstrual Hygiene Management and development of various policies and strategies among others.

She has been involved with several projects and programs supported by (DFID), UNICEF, UNDP, KFW, GTZ, DANIDA, AFD, WORLD BANK, CIDA, USAID, AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK, EUROPEAN UNION, JICA, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation among others.

She has a lot of publications in the WASH sector relating to policies, advocacy and gender and has presented papers on international platforms including WEDC Conferences, WASH Forums and the World Bank. She has served on a number of National and International Technical Committees in the Water and Sanitation, Education and Health Sectors including membership of the Steering committee of the West Africa Global Water Partnership, Health Service Risk Communication, Drinking Water Quality Management, Neglected Tropical Diseases Technical, Water Climate and Development, Anti-microbial Resistance.
