Mohammed holds Msc. Development Policy and Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST); Master of Business Administration from the Sikkim Manipal University; and Bachelor of Science Degree in Planning from KNUST.  He also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute of the USA.

Mohammed Ibrahim Adokor has twenty-two years accumulated experience in WASH policy formulation, planning and research with deep insights into formulation of Policies, Strategic Plans and Programs in the WASH sector; translating  research evidence and policy analysis on WASH into impactful policy narratives and advocacy messages for policy influencing; cross-sectoral coordination, relationship building and working within networks and coalitions to drive change.

He is currently the Director of Research, Planning and Investments and has played a frontline role in conceptualizing the reform of the rural water sector in Ghana. In this regard, he led in the formulation of a Reform Strategy Paper and the Community Water and Sanitation Reform Policy Framework to guide the implementation of the policy reform programme. He facilitated the preparation of the Strategic Investment Plans (2018-2019) and (2021-2024) to layout the various interventions and associated budgets needed to be carried out to lead the Agency.

He has over the years, made significant contributions to the design and implementation of water and sanitation interventions such as the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) funded Rural Water and Sanitation Project in the Northern Region; the European Union (EU) funded Rural Water and Sanitation Project in the Northern Region and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) funded Northern Region Water and Sanitation Project.
