DR. GUSTAV MERRIT OSIAKWAN

NORTH EAST

Dr. Gustav Merrit Osiakwan is a knowledgeable hydrogeologist who has distinguished himself throughout his 18 years career with CWSA.

Dr. Osiakwan holds a BSc. Geology from the University of Ghana, Legon, MSc. Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation, KNUST, Kumasi, and a PhD. Water Resource Engineering and Management also from KNUST. As an individual who loves academic writing, Dr. Osiakwan has gained international recognition in the Journal of African Earth Sciences-ELSEVIER and Modelling Earth Systems and Environment Journal by publishing two scientific papers.

Prior to his appointment as a Regional Director, he was the lead hydrogeologist in the Central Region for 11 years and later at the CWSA Head Office, Accra, as a Chief Hydrogeologist responsible for coordinating hydrogeological activities. He also the acting Regional Director for Upper East.

Dr. Gustav Merrit Osiakwan has over the years supervised notable projects which include Rural WASH Project by Plan International, Rotary International / USAID WASH Project, SIF Integrated Rural Development Project, UNICEF/GoG WASH Project for Basic Schools, GoG 20,000 Boreholes Project and a World Band sponsored Sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation Project (SRWSP).
